Above is a live feed from one of BP’s several ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) operating at the broken oil pipe a mile below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico.
How to Read the BP SpillCam
Most of the time, there is an information section at the top of the screen. Always check the date and time (see image below) to see if you’re viewing a live feed or a taped segment.
Now that the top kill operation is underway, BP has switched to a different ROV camera for its live feed. (See below) While some of the on-screen information is different, the date and time are still there. Across the top is a compass heading showing the direction of the view. The depth is in the top-right corner, and the subject, in this case, Monitor Valves on BOP, is center-bottom.

We can solve the leak with magnetism.
Speaking of smoke monsters, why couldn’t they put a cork in it?, much like the stone cork(for lack of a better term)Desmond and Jack removed and replaced in the cave on Lost. I think they’re overthinking the whole thing.
Why are there more “leaks” than before?

Looks like the “Black Smoke Monster” has been replaced by four “White Smoke Monsters.” Why?
As of 5:03 CST the eight-panel “Oceaneering Video Portoal” video display is still showing at http://edition.cnn.com/video/flashLive/live.html?stream=1. Seven panels are live, the bottom right is dark.
The two top left panels appear to show mud streaming out of the top of the BOP kink, and a side view of the BOP.
