What we don’t like
The USB charging cord is not as robust as the rest of the power charger. You need the chord to be more reliable and powerful in the backcountry.
The flip-up USB plug can break if you drop the Goal Zero Flip 20. This is not ideal when you are out camping or solo hiking, as it means that you can lose the ability to charge your devices.

Goal Zero Flip 20 Alternatives
The Goal Zero Flip 20 power bank’s main feature that we don’t like is the flip-out plug. While the charger is top-quality and rugged enough to withstand the rigors of the outdoors, the flip-out feature looks like it can break easily under a fall.
Some alternatives that you may want to consider with all-round durability include:
- Sherpa USB power bank
- Switch ten power bank
Overall, the Goal Zero Flip 20 is an incredible power bank. It is tough and robust and is built to withstand the rigors of the outdoors. The Goal Zero Flip 20 is also water-resistant. However, keep in mind that it is not waterproof. This means it can even withstand light showers.
You can recharge the power bank through a compatible solar panel, ensuring that your devices are powered even when you are off the grid.
If you are searching for the perfect power bank to take with you on your backcountry adventures, the Goal Zero Flip 20 fits the bill!
