Here’s our house from Google Earth’s Eye-in-the-Sky, with our “battle plan” marked on it.

We’re fortunate to have a couple of good-sized surfaces facing due south, with no shade at any time of day. Up ’til now that’s been more of a curse than a blessing, especially in the summer when the temperature reaches 120° F (49° C).

Prime location for The Array is the green-tinted area #1. If we need to, we can also add panels to area #2.

The black rectangle outlined in red is our solar water heater. More about that later.
